Dear Friends,

My thoughts are with all those impacted by the events of September 11th, 2001. Today, we pause to honor the heroes, remember the lives lost, and reflect on the strength and unity of our community and nation. We will never forget.

Here are a few local highlights and dining events to enjoy during the second half of September.

Top Local Events & Highlights

Sonoran Restaurant Week (Final Weekend: Sept 11–13 | Greater Tucson, Oro Valley & Marana)

The Vibe: Tucson’s premier culinary celebration wraps up its 10-day event over the weekend. Participating local restaurants offer special multi-course fixed-price menus. Grab last-minute weekend reservations to support local dining across the Foothills, Marana, and Oro Valley!

Marana Concerts in the Courtyard (Sept 17 | Marana Municipal Complex)

The Vibe: A free outdoor evening concert (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM) featuring live performances by local musicians and dynamic local food trucks. A perfect Thursday evening outing for Marana residents to enjoy food truck dining and live music under the evening sky.

Heirloom Farmers Market at Steam Pump Ranch (Saturdays, Sept 19 & 26 | Oro Valley)

The Vibe: A Saturday morning market beneath Pusch Ridge featuring local growers, artisan bakers, live acoustic music, and historical tours. An ideal weekend morning activity for Oro Valley locals to pick up local produce and fresh baked goods.

Annual Mt. Lemmon Oktoberfest (Weekends starting Sept 19–20 | Summerhaven / Mt. Lemmon)

The Vibe: Crisp mountain air, traditional German food (bratwurst, pretzels, and apple strudel), live polka bands, and outdoor beer gardens up in the cool pines. Take a short, scenic drive up the Catalina Highway for a refreshing fall mountain getaway and great food.

Tucson Greek Festival (Sept 25–27 | St. Demetrios Church, Central Tucson)

The Vibe: Southern Arizona’s largest celebration of Greek culture, featuring authentic homemade dishes (gyros, spanakopita, moussaka, and baklava), traditional dancing, and imported wine.
The top foodie destination for late September to sample authentic Mediterranean cuisine and desserts.
